GNBCHC to Host Speaking Engagement with Michael Botticelli to Discuss Opioid Crisis

The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center, in partnership with New Bedford Mayor Jonathan Mitchell and the New Bedford Opioid Task Force, will host a speaking engagement featuring Michael Botticelli, the Executive Director of the Grayken Center for Addiction Medicine at Boston Medical Center and the former Director of National Drug Control Policy under President Barack Obama. Mr. Botticelli also served as Deputy Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) in 2012 and served as Director of the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, where he successfully expanded innovative and nationally recognized  prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. With over two decades of experience supporting Americans affected by substance use disorders, Mr. Botticelli will share his own story of addiction and recovery and provide insight into the ways the community members can work to combat the current Opioid Crisis.

The Health Center Speaker Series featuring Michael Botticelli will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
